Following receipt of approval from the Central Bank of Ireland, Ornella Group Ltd are delighted to announce the appointment of Paul Whelan to the role of Chief Executive Officer, for Ornella Underwriting Ltd (OUL), with effect from January 1st, 2024.
Having worked in the Irish insurance market for over 25 years, Paul brings a wealth of management experience to the position. While Group Managing Director for Ireland, Paul has served as a director of OUL since Ornella’s acquisition of the company in 2020. Having already been involved in the day-to-day management of the business and closely engaged with the management team, this appointment provides stability and continuity for the OUL team, our insurer and broker partners and most importantly for our customers. It is an exciting time in the evolution of our business, with the recent announcement of new capacity, and we wish Paul and the local management team continued success in the years to come.
Upon his departure from the organisation, Ornella Group Ltd would like to thank Michael Cronin for all he has achieved in the business over the past 3 years, and we wish him well with the next chapter of his career.
